FRUITS

Fruits such as these are abundant in Iligan City as early as 1947.  Fruits such as dalanghita, mango, papaya, durian, langka, madang, baungon, banana are sold at low prices so many can taste its freshness from the farms of neighboring towns.  Many people also are cultivating some of these fruits in their backyard to save them from difficult times when they're out of money.

These fresh fruits are also rich in vitamins and minerals, which is good for optimum health.  Daily doses of these is very healthy whether young or old.

Now it's not difficult to find anywhere in Iligan City for these can be bought in groceries, fruitstands, and flea market.

So what are you waiting for? buy now and get yourself healthy each day onwards. :-)

R.U.S.T.

"RUST is not good, right?"  the father of the groom said when he was asked to give a message of his son's wedding.

It was the wedding of a relative, and I was one of the audience when that part of the ceremony.  And honestly,  I agree it is not good especially in a relationship.  But then continuing to listen his message, I learned it's the acronym R.U.S.T. he meant to say.  Four letters very important to value in the married life of two persons.

R stands for RESPECT.  One important value when it comes to relationships especially married couples.  It is valuing each other's sensibility in whatever situation.  It is treating each other with consideration with dignity.

U stands for UNDERSTANDING.  Married couples must understand each others flaws and try to work things out together.  Understanding his/her weaknesses, and encourage him/her to have a positivity in the relationship.

S stands for SIMPLICITY.  Life need not to be complicated so live simply and happily.  Simplicity is only the first step of the journey.  Happiness is not found outside of you, so live from the core of your being.  Simplicity is having the time and space to embrace what is important to you.

T stands for TIME.  Value TIME more than money.  Life with more TIME for each other is quite satisfying than the other way around.

Everyone really listened carefully to that part of the ceremony.  It was really amazing!  The whole wedding ceremony was very amazing I cannot say more.  Then the  father of the groom sums it all as "  Don't be afraid to have R.U.S.T..  For it is quite helpful you have it."

An interior design ....

Interior designing is one of my favorite past time.  It's either I clean antique stuffs or really making my own design out of imagination and or recycling stuffs at home.  At this time,  looking back at the photos of previous days shoots, I found this rare and one of a kind electrical design. This photo I got from visiting houses of a relative's relative in the country having  a party and while they are busy chatting each other updating themselves of the latest news.

This is a lightning design at the dining table.  Made up of wooden sticks of plants.

Actually this is a landscape photo.  I just make it into portrait to look number eight.  Avery attractive design, really! and....  is an eye captivating part of the house.  I love looking at it especially during night time.  It tells something I can't explain!

Beautiful, isn't it?

How important is eating rice...

Rice, which is the main crop of our country (Philippines) is one of the many essential food.  In a day, we eat 3-5 times .  Eating rice in the morning or during lunch is good since we need much energy in our daily activities as we go through our journey in life.

Rice is very high in carbohydrates.  And it mean, it is high in energy.  It is low fat, gluten free, low NaCl, cholesterol and sugar.  Obviously, its all natural, having no additives or presevatives unless you put some when cooking.

Rice is among the Go foods together with other cereals.  Whole grains such as rice are vital source of fiber.  Fiber foods help decrease the risk of heart disease, stroke, and certain cancers.  They also maintain blood sugar and insulin levels.  further, fiber foods assist with regular bowel movements and thus keep you feeling full longer.

Rice intake should be good in quality.  Pick the good quality in the market :  one that is devoid of stones or other debris while harvesting; and also that is uniform in shape and color.

There are many ways to cook the rice. You can cook it plain, you can cook it fried, and also you can cook it with a viand.  Some people often put flavor in it so it is satisfying to eat.  Some people also just eat rice with a fruit in their diet to keep them fit.  One has to be intellectually creative in cooking so it is enjoying to eat, so as having a good appetite in every meal.

LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL! Eat well and moderately!  =)

Daily Exercise

To get in shape and stay fit, one must exercise daily.  It does not mean you have to go to gym and use exercise equipments.  In fact I have a video here from Youtube  about an exercise that can be done at home, too!  Actually the key in here is to find a good place you are comfortable exercising and  get physically moving like your muscles as well as your brain (mentally) to attain that physical fit you aim.  You can also do exercise without the exercise equipments usually found in the gym.

HERE IS THE VIDEO:

Make this you regular physical activity and you’ll get amazing results – improved self-esteem and confidence, decreases risk of cardiovascular diseases, burns calories maintaining one’s weight, improves muscle strength and boost endurance.

Another Person's Anger

3 BASIC SITUATIONS IN WHICH YOU’LL FACE ANOTHER PERSON’S ANGER DIRECTLY:

  •       You are in a stronger position than the other.  For example, you are the boss, and one of the many    employees you have is angry.
  •       You and the angry person are approximately equal in strength.  Either your spouse, adult relative, friend or neighbor is angry.
  •      The angry person is in a stronger position than you are.  You’re the employee, for example, and the angry person is your boss.

Simple enough, except that in each of the three, your need to dispel the other person’s anger may be great, moderate, or non-existent.  You may believe that the other person’s anger is highly justified somewhat or not justified at all.  And the situation may be one that can be corrected, can be partly corrected, or is finished matter than cannot now be changed.
One of the winner’s most essential abilities is to be able to accept and resolve another person’s anger.  To be able to cope with another’s anger, winners know that they first have the sense of temperance.  A winner sees another person’s anger as merely another barrier to be overcome; a loser wants to use it as an excuse for losing control of himself.
If you automatically respond with anger to someone who’s angry at you, this means that anyone can seize control of your life simply by showing anger.

8 simple and effective methods of controlling your temper
  • Laugh it off is much better than ignoring another person’s anger.  Acknowledge the other person’s anger quickly.  Listen very well or pay close attention to angry people and tell them that you realize how angry they are.
  • Make it plain that you’re concerned
  • Don’t hurry them.  Be patient in letting them get it all out.  Never try to shut them up as well.  Listen.  In many cases it is all you can do, all you have to do.
  • Keep calm.
  • Ask questions.  Aiming to discover the specific things that should be done to remove or correct the cause of the other person’s anger.  It takes great patience I known
  • Get them talking about solutions.
  • Agree on a solution
  • Set a realistic time frame that you’re sure you can handle.  The successful way is to meet problems today, not postpone them until they’re larger tomorrow.

STEWED CHICKEN

Stewed Chicken is so simple to cook.  I think everybody loves it especially boys(men).  It's one of their favorite menu any time of day.

Anyway,  I have here a recipe I learned just by reading.  Actually it is just simply called ADOBO.  I just change the name into Stewed Chicken for in the procedure it is done stewing the chicken in soy sauce and vinegar.

According to the Chef, it is best to use a Japanese soy sauce for it is less salty and more flavorful than the table soy sauce(ordinary).  It is also best to put cracked black pepper, which releases more flavor into the sauce.

TO COOK:

1.  Heat 3 tablespoons of cooking oil on high heat in a wok or pot, and throw in four cloves of smashed garlic.
2.  Brown 6-8 pieces of chicken on each side and pour one cup, and pour one cup of soy sauce over them.  Once the soy sauce starts to simmer, pour in half a cup of vinegar, and let it simmer on its own stirring.
3.  Grind or sprinkle half a teaspoon of black pepper into the pot.
4.  Crumple two dried laurel leaves and throw them in.  Cover the pot and turn the heat to low, leaving it to cook for 15 minutes.  Turn over the chicken pieces and leave for another 15 minutes.
5.  Then serve with a fave fruit to have a good appetite.  =)  Happy eating!

SUN BATHING

Sunbath or Sun exposure is still important though it’s super hot these days.  Sun temperature is really increasing from the normal temperature that it’s only best on early morning.  It is important, by the way, because it helps the circulation of blood, for maintainance of good health and disposition, as well as, for recuperation of health from any diseases.

The SUN offers life, gives light and color as well as produces happiness and dissipates darkness.  Existence of any creature is impossible without SUN.  Many diseases will be cured and the illnesses that beset humanity can be prevented with the help of the sun.

Actually   there are two ways to sunbath.  It is either natural sun exposure or through sun lamp.  Through sunbathing, both healthy and sick be benefited, but it should be done or applied in a reasonable manner and should never be abused.  Special care should be given upon the start of sunbath until the body is used to the action of solar rays.  If one exposes the body to the sun for a long time, serious disturbances may appear right away.

In other countries, sun shines best during spring and autumn.   In the Philippines, it is summer time.  But during these times where the temperature is too hot, it is advisable to put sun protection, and thus should be in appropriate place.   Naturally, it is done in places such as seashores in which sea salt gives wonderful results, but not all can enjoy this so a good terrace is a good alternative.  It is important to always maintain the head and neck under the shade.  Tree shade is preferable.  The body should be exposed to sun in a manner that the solar rays act directly to the skin.  Starting from few minutes and increasing the duration constantly.  At the end of sunbath, it is advisable to have a quick cold shower on the whole body or cold friction with towel.  In this way, blood circulation is activated.

The only thing here is:  One must have to avoid the HOTTEST HOURS of summer to avoid suffocation, more so if the person is not quite used to the solar rays.  IN MODERATION PLEASE!!!

JOB OPENINGS

I'd really like to help unemployed individuals out there who are looking for stable jobs.  I'd really like to help other people that's why I make this post with links of those hiring companies in the Philippines.

It's not really easy to find money in this difficult times.  All you really have to do is be patient and persevering in any experiences.  It is very rewarding than cheating anybody else around.  As mentioned in the bible found in  Galatians 5:22-23 that says  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

So here are the links to check on:

SIMPLE RECIPES

An excerpt from http://www.fisheaters.com/customslent1.html , according to the 1983 Code of Canon Law, the rule for the universal Church during Lent is abstain on all Fridays (inside or outside of Lent) and to both fast and abstain on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.

Some traditional Catholics might follow the older pattern of fasting and abstinence during this time, which for the universal Church required:

  • Ash Wednesday, all Fridays, and all Saturdays: fasting and total abstinence. This means 3 meatless meals -- with the two smaller meals not equalling in size the main meal of the day -- and no snacking.

  • Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays (except Ash Wednesday), and Thursdays: fasting and partial abstinence from meat. This means three meals -- with the two smaller meals not equalling in size the main meal of the day -- and no snacking, but meat can be eaten at the principle meal.
On those days of fasting and abstinence, meatless soup is traditional. Sundays, of course, are always free of fasting and abstinence; even in the heart of Lent, Sundays are about the glorious Resurrection. This pattern of fasting and abstinence ends after the Vigil Mass of Holy Saturday

INTEGRITY

"A Life lived with integrity- even if it lacks the trappings of fame and fortune is a shining star in whose light others may follow in the years to come." DENNIS WAITLEY

A quote that's quite true!  Integrity is very important in one's life.  It means a willingness to stand up for our beliefs no matter what others might think.  It also means seeking to put into practice in our lives that which we proclaim with our lips.

Integrity values much honesty, a key to a good relationship.  Telling and sticking on to the truth will then be rewarded with TRUST.  Honesty, together with self discipline, and good guidance in making promises makes a person with INTEGRITY.  And as little as a tot if trained earlier will grow fully with good wisdom.  He/she will carry much virtues/ psychosocial strengths which help him/her through the rest of their lives.  And the best place to start with all these is in the every homes.  Good values must be learned through Parents.
